Therapeutic massage
An approach tailored to your needs
Therapeutic massage allows for a more targeted approach to tension and problem areas through deeper, more precise work. The session can remain calm and relaxing, but at times I may ask for your feedback to adjust the pressure or better target a sensitive area. Prefer a more clinical and interactive approach? Simply let me know, and the session can be adapted accordingly.

My approach
My approach is based on working progressively through the tissues. Rather than immediately applying maximum pressure, I work deeper gradually, allowing the muscles time to release before reaching the deeper layers. Depending on what I find, I may work on trigger points, muscle tension and structures that may be contributing to discomfort in a particular area.
I can apply very deep pressure when the situation calls for it. However, the pressure remains targeted and progressive: I increase the intensity based on how the tissues respond and on your tolerance. The goal is not to avoid firm pressure, but to use it in the right place and at the right time. Excessive intensity can trigger a protective response and increase muscle contraction rather than promote relaxation.
My background in physiotherapy also influences the way I work, particularly in my understanding of anatomy, biomechanics and the relationships between different structures.

A treatment built around you

There is no single way to experience a therapeutic massage. Before your session, the health questionnaire and our discussion help me understand what brings you in, which areas to prioritize, any sensitivities you may have, and the type of experience you are looking for.
The treatment is then adapted to those goals. It may include deep tissue massage, trigger point work, stretching, mobilizations, cupping or, more occasionally, gua sha.
The intensity and choice of techniques can also vary depending on the context: persistent tension, muscle recovery or preparation for physical activity do not necessarily require the same approach.
You don't have to choose from a long list of techniques yourself. We determine the goal together, and I adapt the treatment accordingly.
Cupping
Cupping uses negative pressure created by suction to gently lift the tissues. The cups can be used statically or moved across the skin and incorporated into the massage to work on certain areas differently from manual techniques.
I use cupping as a complementary technique when certain muscle tensions are particularly persistent, in some cases of chronic pain, or to support muscle recovery. It provides an additional approach that may be beneficial depending on the area being treated and how it responds to treatment.
I have completed specific training in cupping and incorporate it into the treatment when appropriate for your needs and comfort.
